If you’ve been following me for years, even before this blog was born, you’d know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE makeup. I used to recreate looks from kpop idols and posted it on my IG and all guys #LAME #letmelivebahaha. But I stopped after my skin gotten bad with acnes here and there and had to let it heal for some time, only wore it occasionally like during raya. But I still love makeup though, watched a lot of makeup tutorials and all, learnt a lot from Michelle and Promise Phan hehe. Ahh good days~
Anyways, I got back into the game when I got back from KL with Bub after I gotten myself legit makeup that changed my game hehe.
Nars lightweight foundation, Chanel pressed powder, Bobbi Brown blusher, Chanel and Marc Jacobs lipsticks PHEWW these actually screams money bahaha. Anyway some of these products made it to my favs so keep on reading!!!
But seriously, guys, these products were the turning point of my life…not to sound dramatic but really. It was a challenge to find makeup in Brunei (HELLO SEPHORA, BRUNEI DARUSSALAM EXIST) though it is easier nowadays because we have a lot of online shops that sells makeup, but nothing beats picking and swatching makeup personally at the store (especially buying foundation. I mean what if the color’s different from the screen and irl?? What if the foundation oxidize but you won’t know??? *cries*). Oh how I miss Sephora so much now…
Okay enough in telling how much I love makeup, let’s jump straight to my holy grails!!!
Well hello my loves hehe <3 I told you guys some made it into the list :> Okay let’s talk about the eye palettes first shall we
Yes it is all beaten and disgusting and dying but this was one of my first ever palettes that I purchased 5 years ago! Yes you read that right, and yes I still use it up until now hahaha. I actually have the Naked 2 also that I purchased alongside this palette but I don’t really pick that one up as the colors are mostly similar, the 2nd one is more into the shimmery side. But why did I still snatched it? IDK. It was trending in 2012 so I was pressured to have both of it hahaha. Anyway as you guys can see, my most favorite shade is called Buck (the brown looking all abused, yes that one). I used it as my transition color, my contour, perfect for that subtle smokey look and everything. Basically Buck is my bae la haha.
Most of the shadows feels buttery like satin smooth like that, especially the shimmer ones though it’s not cream shadow, but the matte ones are mostly powdery (except my Buck, it’s more buttery to me haha). In terms of pigmentation, some of the dark shimmer does need some buildings to get its true color like on the pan but it’s not a big deal to me as I’m not a pro yet to handle highly pigmented shadows. Due to this I’ve control over the intensity of my shadows and can achieve the intensity that I want easily, though more time and patience are needed here haha. Toasted (the gold one) is also my favorite especially when I go for halo eye makeup and I usually pick it up using the tip of my finger ’cause I want to grab as much pigment as I can when transferring it to my lids, if you don’t wanna get your fingers dirty you can also use flat synthetic brush and don’t forget to wet it so the shadow will stick more onto your brush!
This one was retailed for BND100+ back in 2012 as I bought it straight from this shop called Shop @ Sarah’s (still operating at Kiulap Mall guys hehe) so uh yeah it was really expensive but not as expensive as it is nowadays….I think online shops sells it for BND85 now if I’m not mistaken? Still expensive though, ABH modern renaissance is cheaper than this. But I recommend this palette for beginners who are still learning eye-makeup as all the basic colors can be found in this palette alone. Plus it’s a really great palette for everyday basic makeup too so why not :>
Urban Decay Naked Palette 1, rate: 8/10
My ultimate ULTIMATE BAE <3 <3 <3 Yes the one that I went loco over in KL guys hahaha it was WORTH IT.
Well as y’all can see I’ve ruined most of the shadows already, except for Tempting and Bless Her Heart ’cause I’ve yet to try green eye look. My favs are Summer Yum, Puree, Just Peachy, Candied Peach, Charmed, I’m Sure and White Peach. I love love love combining Summer Yum and Puree and use it as my transition color. Ahh such beautiful couple these two <3 I’m also obsessed with Just Peachy and Candied Peach, it’s either I pack these colors onto the centre of my lids or make sweet halo look with it. Either way, it’s still beautiful as heck! I LOVE the fact that there’s hint of gold in Just Peachy where you can see the gold holo effect when you swatch it. Obsessed is an understatement guys!!!
In terms of pigmentation, some are too sheer and some are too pigmented. I recommend you guys to use primer first because it will help the shadows to pop beautifully, especially for the sheer ones. I’d say this palette is a very tricky palette, so I don’t recommend it to those who are just starting to learn makeup. You’ll hate it because some of it do need some build up and some (like puree and summer yum) are highly pigmented so you’ve to be careful not to pick too much of it on your brush or you’ll end up with rough looking shadows, ’cause dang girls do you need to BLEND BLEND BLEND all day long with this one palette lol. #whoneedsdumbbells #justbuysweetpeach
Okay I know I look ugly but please don’t mind, I just want to show you guys some of the looks that I tried on using this palette. Even I’m not a pro yet (as y’all can see that some of the shadows aren’t well blended and too sheer) but it’s too late for me to go back now guys haha. It’s okay, it’s still impossible for me to resist this palette up until now, I’ll just keep on practicing until I nail it <3 Oh I almost forgot, it smells like peach too! <3 <3 <3
Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, rate: 9/10
As I’ve mentioned above, in order to get the color of the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette on point, you need to use eye primer first. Oh how this changed my life guys! I usually just went straight to applying my shadows onto my lids, though sometimes I did used my old primer potion that I got for free from one of the UD Naked palettes, but I only used it in small amount ’cause I was a cheapskate bahaha. To my defense, the primer potion was so small kay! Jeez let me live haha.
I bought this when I went to KL recently ’cause I know that I need to purchase one after watching gazillion Sweet Peach reviews and most of the makeup gurus recommended us to use primer first. Okay fine, also because I was sakai ’cause UD finally has their own physical store in KL and I had the strong urge to buy something there sheesshhh. If I’m not mistaken there are two primer potions at that time, one is the normal purple one and another one is this Eden one. I asked the assistant for an advise on which primer to get and told her that I’ve oily lids (DISGUSTING, I KNOW. I HAVE TO ACCEPT MY OILY LIDS AS IT IS OKAY) and she told me to get this one. I’ve to say it is waaaay better than the purple one guys! It is more matte than the purple one! I also use this to practice cut crease instead of using my MAC concealer and it did waaay better job than the concealer itself. So if you’ve disgusting oily lids like me, please do invest on this Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion in Eden okay, your eyeshadows will thank you miss!

I used to be a big Maybelline believer when it comes to mascara and that belief gotten more intense when MAC waterproof mascara kind of disappoint me (I sound like I hate MAC but I love it ok! Not all products produced will always be likable to you hehe) but boy did this Too Faced Better Than Sex changed my eyelashes game! I love love love mascara that can make my eyes look bigger and also my eyelash look looooong as heck teehee. I’m asian okay so not really blessed when it comes to eyelash department (still alhamdulillah for having lashes! Please don’t get mad at me God!!). I’ve straight eyelashes and to make it worse, it goes downwards. So if you’re looking for girls with bulu mata melentik, go away. I punya tak lentik tapi punggung I boleh tahan lentik sampai Kylie Jenner tanya I kat mane I pegi cucuk. HAHAHAHA JOKESS
Anyway, though I said I love this mascara, but I do have some complains though. The mascara won’t dry on the spot after you apply it and sometimes it got transferred to my under eyes a bit, those irritating small dots. I handled it pretty well nowadays though by applying my eye-makeup first, wait for it to dry then I’ll apply foundation. Also, I’m not sure if it’s because it’s starting to run low, but it can get really patchy and crumbly nowadays, especially when I coat it twice. But it did the job well done so Imma stop complaining there haha.
Oh yes this one is waterproof guys, and those are artificial water drops kays haha. Also the wand tho! It’s said that the wand is inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s iconic body, and y’all know which symbol Marilyn was said to be (hint and hence: the name of this mascara)

Okay enough with the eye part, let’s move on to face!
Honestly these are my only favorite face makeup on my vanity table. Let’s talk about the destructed Bobbi Brown blusher first haha.
My go to blusher, the only blusher that I need in my life. And it is well proven by looking at the nail mark it has there hahaha *CRIES BLOOD* I’M SORRY I RUINED YOU BABY.
Okay, I’m okay. What else do I need to say other than how perfect this blusher is. It is kind of pigmented, only one tap on my brush is enough for my fat cheek. So I also used it as my shadow sometimes. See how perfect it is?? So I’m gonna stop here. And oh, it’s called Rose 3 by the way hehe
Also yes the Chanel compact powder behind it is also my favorite, but it is waaay too disgusting for me to expose it to you guys haha. I have yet to invest on loose powder (I’m eyeing Laura Mercier or Too Faced Peach powder thing…yes I love Too Faced!!!) so for now this is my setting powder. I don’t usually apply that much other than on my T-zone and my under eyes and I only apply thin layer of it. Even so it still makes my skin look softer and flawless and it does control the oil on my t-zone area, although it doesn’t really set the creases under my eyes (I’ve tried sooo many techniques to cover these creases…I guess I’m left with skincare products for it). Still love it though, it also has SPF25 so…worth the investment hehe.

Moving on to lip products!
I’m a lipstick junkie, I mean, who isn’t??? So when I heard that Izara Aishah launched Madame Izara, I kinda went- scratch that, I went total NUTS. I dragged Teet along to Letop Lebaran thingy just to get this lip kit guys, Teet is da real MVP always heheee #sorryhaha. I wasn’t planning to buy it at first but then there were testers and I’ve been searching for this kind of sexy deep rose pink shade so…SOLD TO THIS LOSER. It was still on promotion during that time so luckily I only had to invest $29 for these whole things: lip liner, liquid lipstick and sharpener, which came inside the sleek black box there. I think it went back to it’s normal price for $35 now if I’m not mistaken? But $35 for these 3 things…give me moaarrr.
By the way, this product is made in Germany so she’s not playing around okay haha. And yes the color stays true even with one swatch, super pigmented and not sheer to the point where you have to coat it to get the true color. Though the color is bright, it doesn’t leave your lips all dry and heavy! I usually wear lip balm before applying my lipstick so it’ll glide on my lips more easily, but the liquid lipstick still doesn’t leave my lips all dry. One coat and you’re good to go!
I also tried it on and went to test it out, ate lamb skewer and drink and all, but it was still there guys! It sticks on your lips like glue (metaphorically, it is not sticky please don’t get mistaken LOL) but can easily be removed using makeup remover. I don’t even have to re-apply it! I. Live. For. This. Kind. Of. Liquid. Lipstick. <3
The other one is from Kat Von D and it is in brown shade. My skin is considered fair so I used to avoid wearing weird deep yet poppin’ colored lipsticks, but now I just YOLO. Never been glad of such decision made haha. Anyway, it is my go to liquid lipstick ’cause it matches with my bitch face (and I still dare to ask myself why people are afraid of me HAHA). I don’t know, I just love that grungy yet subtle look it gave me. Also, it matches with most of my outfits hahaha. It is pigmented too though but it doesn’t really stay on my lips, especially after eating so I have to reapply it again. I don’t really mind tho, well sometimes I do feel lazy to reapply my lipstick back and would rather walk here and there with my “ombre” lips haha #style. Still love this KVD liquid lipstick nevertheless, the design of the tube is really attractive too! :>

Ahh finally we’ve come to an end! And God knows how many “pigmented” word I’ve repeated in this post haha #sooopigmented. I hope I’ve covered everything, though it doesn’t seem like it haha. But fret not, if you guys have any questions just leave a comment or tweet or dm me, I’ll try my best to help ok! Don’t worry, the wildest meat that I’ve ever eaten is lamb so I won’t eat yours haha. These are my preferences so what I like might clash with yours, so don’t blame me if you ended up hating the products that I love ok! Make sure you make enough research first, if you can try and swatch it, do that. Make sure you watch more than 10 reviews on YouTube first before purchasing it, I’m not even kidding! Makeup is an investment to me so it’d be a waste if it were to end up laying on your vanity table without any purposes. Unless if you’re filthy rich and can afford everything, ok you do you haha.
So I’ve laid down all of my holy grails, what’s yours? ;>
