Okay I KNOOOOWWWWW I’M SUUUPER DUPER LATE and would like to apologize for not being as active the past 2 months. I’ve loads to blog about though!!! But let’s just keep that aside first ’cause I’m scared of making promises that I’m unsure of uhu.
So as of the title, I was personally invited by Sarah Shahnor, founder of Modvier, to go to her talk here in Brunei. I’m not really a social type of person so I was a bit skeptical when it comes to that but it’s business and beauty talk, not just a pointless gathering. So I was like why not right??? Maybe it can benefit me a lot (and boy sure it did!). I was supposed to drag Teet along but she bailed on me sheesh…but hey, Poopy to the rescue, which was perfect ’cause she’s really good in this socializing stuff ehe.
We arrived there a bit late, the talk already started a bit. When we entered the venue I suddenly felt insecure because all of the ladies (and also some gents) who sat there were all freaking gorgeous guys!!! I was questioning my decision for a bit haha should’ve stayed home what is my ugly a$$ doing here. But since it’s too late to waltz out, I just decided to follow Poopy and sat down. Sigh I need to gather more confidence for the sake of myself.
So the talk started with the MC introducing Sarah and also Kak Suri, both founders of Erba, a company which focuses on inner and outer beauty. Okay since this talk was like 2 months ago, I’m not gonna promise you guys that I’m gonna tell everything aight? I didn’t even jot down any points (pardon as this was my first ever talk that I attended to so I was all shy to even type things. I was the most conscious at that time hahaha) so I’ll just tell you guys what I remember okie :>
It started with Sarah’s business talk, how she found Kak Suri and Erba and decided to join in. I remember she talked about the 3 important S’s which are the main points of her business advices:
SET YOUR STANDARDS
In business world, anyone can do the same thing as what you’re doing. For example, you sell scarves but there are loads of people selling it too you know, not just you. So the thing here now is, what makes your scarves different from others? What can you do in order to keep attracting consumers to buy your products on every new release? And the most important thing is, what can you do to make your consumers believe in the products you are selling? Fuuhh this feels like A’level once again haha. Anyways that’s why if you go through Erba’s Instagram account, you will see that their caption is not just about those attractive (and cringy sometimes haha) slogans that promises you fair skin in just an hour or burn your fats in a matter of second, they gave you informations that you need to know in their products too. This kind of marketing works well for a super conscious person like me, who is always paranoid in trying new products hence the amount of reviews I need to watch before purchasing especially beauty stuff hehe. So with the informations legitimately written by them, as a consumer it helps me a lot. Not only that they’re gaining my trust but at the same time I do gain some knowledge from them too. You’d know that this brand isn’t just selling stuff for the sake of money, but also is trying their best to help women out there. This is the kind of standard they are carrying and I adore it so so much!
If I’m not mistaken, smart was one of the important points…hopefully I’m right haha. So obviously you need to be smart in handling a business or else it will flop #duhh hehe. One of the things that amazes me about these entrepreneurs is how smart they actually are in handling their businesses. Like there are sooo many scopes to think about and choices to be made, and the opportunity that come and go. Honestly, though I’m now pursuing in law, I would love to have my own business someday. At least a cute pink cafe would do where we all girlies can sit and chat while having cakes and coffees hehe. Okay let’s not get carried away haha. Sarah told us about her business venture, that before Modvier was born she used to spend a lot of money to open up a clothing line if I’m not mistaken..I’m sorry Sarah next time I’ll write or record everything okay! Please forgive me!!!
But that one particular project of her does not work guys, it failed despite the huge investment injected into the project. This prove that sometimes money can’t really solve things haha. But hey, money do can solve things okay, you just have to be smart! (e.g: buying me a new square dUCk so I’ll love you more…JOKESS). Sarah told us that her baby Modvier actually born during the time when Malaysian designers were starting to bloom. So she had an idea where instead of the designers themselves opening their own individual boutiques, which obviously will cost loads of money, she thought why not gather all of these designers clothing and sell it in one boutique instead? So she only had to focus on opening a boutique! So TA-DAA Modvier was born!!! I’m really interested to visit Modvier now, one day Miza one day ;>
That beautiful lady holding the mic is Kak Suri :>
The mic was then given to Kak Suri so she can share her advices too. So opening up a business can be an easy task to anyone (who has the money, of course) but the hardest part of having a business is actually maintaining it. So in order to keep your business running you obviously need strength to handle it, both mental and physical strengths I would say. Not only you, your business must have its own strength too. Honestly, I don’t really remember much about this part (SORRY KAK SURI..it was 2 months ago guys so forgive me *cries blood*). But hey! I do remember Kak Suri’s story about her having a clothing brand too! She told us that she used to own a muslimah clothing brand to help hijabis to be as stylish. But then she produced clothes that were too revealing in her opinion and when her daughter pointed it out to her about it too, she then decided to stop and close it down. After that Erba then was found with an intention of helping women out there to stay beautiful inside and out <3 She used to brew her jamu guys!!! Even the capsule jamu from Erba are her own recipe, which is awesome!!! I’ve yet to master this inner beauty thing (’cause uh..I LOVE sugar…) but after knowing Erba, I knew a little bit about my inner health and they indeed nudged me up from my unconscious and negligence of my inner health. But that only lasted for hours though, as expecte eheee…
Oh of course one more important S, but to be avoided (to my despair..)
SUGAR PEOPLE. Sigh…sometimes love can be so complicated huh?
So those are the areas which can be affected from high sugar intake. I just knew that us ladies only need 8 tablespoon of sugar daily. See sugar is not bad at all, but overdosing on it can do some several damages to your body and health. Oh ignore that that’s just the sound of my heart shattering into pieces…
Anyways as if sugar is not that evil enough, it can also give you bad mood guys. Have you ever indulge on a really sweet cake or drinks and went all “haah sugar makes me happy~” with heart signs floating above your head? It’s actually an uh-oh sign guys. Apparently being too dependent on sugar can give you the same affect as drug. Yep..DRUG. You’d be in bad mood if you’ve yet to consume it for so long, having random rage and all until someone shove sweet desserts down your throat, then you’d get back to your normal chirpy self again.
Sounds exactly like me. *awkward laughs*
Okay fineee I’ll try to change this one habit of mine and tame my sweet tooth self. I’ll try to give up those yummy matcha drinks, delicious mocha with extra sugar, gongcha only 0% sugar for now….*CRIES BLOOD* But for your own good Miza. Your. Own. Good.
I reallyyyy wish I could remember more of the talk guys but my brain failed me. Hopefully Sarah and Kak Suri will come back here to give more talk in the future, I will definitely force you girlies to come with me! Maybe we can chill together after that too hehe <3
So other than giving advices, they also explained to us products that Erba is offering. Not only they have jamu but they also have face mist, body scrub, makeup remover etc and we also got the opportunity to test it out first hand. The sniffing part was my favorite because I kid you not the smell of the products are soooo refreshing :>
Products testing time! That’s Sarah on the right hehe.
I mean look at the packaging!!! Sucker like me were (and is still) all heart eyes!!! I also couldn’t just pick a favorite so my favorites were the serum, scrub and face mist <3
Favorite scrub! I think I should invest on it soon hehe.
We also had a Q&A session after that and some lucky people get to bring products home..only when you ask and answer some questions though. Obviously I didn’t teehee (I need to fix my social skill A S A P)
On my left was Kak Suri while she was explaining to us the benefits of the jamu.
Mandatory picture with Sarah of course hehe. Thank you so much for the invitation!!! Please come back and have more talk ’cause I learnt a lot from you guys <3 (Didn’t manage to take a picture with Kak Suri as she was busy talking and taking pictures with others. Maybe next time :’>) I remember the first thing that Sarah pointed out was my Fiziwoo top and I thought I was overdressed guys. But she loved it so PHEW I guess it’s okay then hahaha.
Also made a new friend with this beautiful fashionista! Who kindly approached me first and also asked about my top hahaha hope to meet you soon Yushida! :>
With Poop the saviour of the day hahaha. Thank you so much for accompanying my awkward anti social a$$ to a social event like this <3 By the way boys, she’s single so hit me up on the comment section if interested HAHAHA. #butyoumustpray5timesdaily #addonsunnahprayerwouldbenice #mustalsohavestablejob #drivesferrari #didIscareyouallaway
Thank you so much Erba for such a lovely sharing session that I definitely benefited a lot from! Hopefully there will be more talk from you guys in the future and I promise you guys that we won’t be as silent as we were during the last talk haha #naturallyshy #justbruneianpeoplething #bahaha. I will also take some bullet points next time okay, definitely! Heheee~
